I have said the same thing on national television for more than a decade. Athletes are one of the most qualified and most overlooked sources of leadership talent in the workforce, and most companies walk right past them.

It is not about the sport. It is about the instincts a good team runs on without being told. Discipline. Performing under pressure. Handling adversity. Taking coaching without taking it personally. Working inside a group where nobody looks or thinks alike. Those are the exact skills a business says it wants and rarely knows how to spot.
